Skills are techniques Sinjid can use which serve as the primary form of Attack and Support in Sinjid: Shadow of the Warrior. Each skill has a basic effect, and most are fueled by Mana. Skills can be learned and upgraded using Skill Points, obtained after Sinjid gains a level through experience. Each skill can have a maximum of 10 points invested.
At Level 1, Sinjid will have one starter skill automatically learned which varies depending on class selected. While some skills are available immediately, more powerful skills have prerequisites that must be fulfilled. Most skills require a parent skill to be learned in order to unlock it. In addition, some skills also have a level requirement.
Skills can be divided into two categories: Passive and Active. Passive skills are always active and cost no mana to maintain, but deals no damage by themselves. They instead serve as a permanent boost to Sinjid's other skills. Active Skills can be used in battle, usually at the cost of some Mana. Active Skills can be Offensive or Support oriented. Offensive skills deals damage to the target, while Support skills range from restoring life to summoning a shadow clone.
The damage dealt from an offensive skill can come from five sources:
Physical damage scaling, mitigated by the target's Physical Defence stat before being rounded up to next integer.
Magical damage scaling, mitigated by the target's Magical Defence stat before being runded up to next integer.
Strength damage scaling, mitigated by the target's Physical Defence stat before being rounded up to next integer.
Shield damage scaling, which cannot be mitigated but only applies to active shields.
Random damage scaling, which cannot be mitigated and is a random non-negative integer, up to a specfic limit.
Note: There is a bug in the game which switches the damage scaling of skills. The Physical Damage stat actually increases magical damage dealt, and the Magical Damage stat increases physical damage dealt. The game also doesn't tell you how much damage of each type you dealt with one cast, only the total damage dealt.
Sinjid has access to 19 different skills, of which:
13 are Offensive active skills
3 are Support active skills
3 are Passive skills
In addition, Sinjid also has access to 3 basic actions that do not require skill points to unlock, but can't be upgraded either.
